Three toluene

Colorless transparent liquid. Alpha - 45 ℃, melting point beta - 51 ℃, boiling point 164.7 ℃, relative density 0.864 (20/4 ℃), the refractive index of 1.4994 (20 ℃), flash point 44 ℃, spontaneous combustion point 550 ℃. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, soluble in benzene, ether, acetone in any proportion.

Used for making synthetic dyes, synthetic resins, liquid scintillator solvents, etc. Trimethylbenzene is used as organic chemical raw material to produce synthetic resin, m-acid, trimethylaniline antioxidant 330, high efficiency wheat field herbicide, polyester resin stabilizer, alkyd resin plasticizer, and can also be used to produce reactive brilliant blue, acid dye, k-3r dye intermediates. Tri-toluene is an important organic chemical raw material, which can be used to develop tri-toluene, tri-acid, tri-benzoic anhydride and other dye intermediates, and can also be used to produce antioxidant, polyester resin curing agent, stabilizer, alkyd resin plasticizer. Because the three hydrogens on the aromatic ring have the same chemical environment, the nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen spectrum of homotoluene only gives a peak area around 6.8 PPM corresponding to the single peak of the three hydrogens. Therefore, homotoluene is sometimes used as an internal standard in NMR assays of organic samples containing aromatic protons.
